Polar bears come from inland to the coast of the Arctic Ocean in early fall to wait for the water to freeze. Once frozen, they will venture out onto the ice to hunt seals. But until that water freezes, they wait on the shores and keep themselves busy with one thing or another. This young bear was keeping himself busy watching the activity out on the slushy partially frozen water.
