Sunset Sandhill in Flight

Postby Wayne Nicholas on Tue Dec 09, 2008 10:10 pm

Image
Canon EOS 40D; Canon 500 f/4 L; Wimberley II on Gitzo;
ISO 800; Manual Exp. for 1/160 @ f/8

The first evening didn't light up as we had hoped, but opportunities were still there to be had. Now that I reflect back, perhaps 1/320 @ f/5.6 would had been more appropriate. :wink:

Nice landing shot Wayne. I never did isolate one of these guys parachuting in. :)

One of the best parachuting Cranes I've seen- the strip of the mountain at the bottom gives a nice landing pad and the parachuting silhouette couldn't be better.

I just got the email. I'll start up the printer! :lol:

Really, thanks for the compliment. This shot was on my list to walk away with. You know how it feels when you get to check one of those off. Nice shot of the landing Ross's Goose; I didn't get to check that one off. Maybe next year. :wink:
