the diffusion effect is very flattering to this image. i also like the monochromatic color concept :D
the comp with the curve works well too.
a nice reworking...

Kari, I DO like it!! The fronds look almost frosty, the angle of view is pleasing, and as mentioned, the monochromatic aspect works very well. It is very pleasant to just sit here and look at it-sort of peaceful-like.

Hey Steve,
Just use the "Diffuse Glow" filter in Photoshop, and play around with the settings until you get an effect you like!
