Congratulations! This is the Landscapes Forum image of the week for the week ending 10/31/2008.

Moeraki, New Zealand

I have just returned from a short trip to NZ's south island. My first instinct with this one was B&W. I'm curious about what you think of the colour version.
Canon full-frame, 16-35mm 2.8L, f10, 1.3s, 4 stop reverse GND filter

This is a seriously cool image - I like the color but I am guessing the b&w version would have quite an impact as well.

I like the color more than the B&W as well. This is a wonderful composition and the water really creates a sense of movement. I really enjoy the colors and textures in the rock as well.

A complete knock-out, you sent this one out of the park! :) You know I am a fan of B&W and I do like the B&W version of this scene. I would be totally stoked to have any kind of version of this shot, but in this case I have to go with the color version. The cool/warm color contrast adds something good to the scene, just a bit of polish underlying the main material. Speaking of which, that boulder is fantastic... and the textured water and clouds give it an interesting wrapper too. Superb!

Awesome detail, bold colors, and I like the in-your-face comp. Great work!

Sweet shot. I was on that beach back in 2000 during my honeymoon. I like how you captured the image during high tide and a few of the other bolders can be seen in the wave zone.

This is the second time I've written this today, but why would anyone want this in B&W? Those colours are awesome--the cold blue in the sky, but with a hint of warmth on the horizon, contrasted with the earth tones of the sand and rock.

Composition is great, too. And the textures on the rock, and in the sky, with the breaking wave in between. An incredible shot!

Superb, personally I like the b&w version better but the colour more than holds its own! Excellent work. Tristan
