I'm in shocked to see so many of my Facebook friends jump to Google+. Everyone seem to have a good time sharing images.

I'm wondering how many of you are currently using it and what are your thoughts so far?

Here is my account

Circles are small (or large) groups of people with have a common reasons for being friends. In High School, (so many years ago), we called the Cliques. In the movies, they be represented by the groups like the Jocks, Cheer Leaders, Nerds, etcs. In real life there are often circles with in circles.

Today for me, I don't think the nature photographers and the glamour photographers I hang around with would get along. Nor would I push my family members on either groups. Then there are the people I know from work who are usually way more conservative than either photography group I know. If they implemented it right, a comment made by me on a comment from a nature photographer, shouldn't be seen by any of the other groups. At least, I'm more likely to comment on something if only the people I'd like to see that comment were going to see it.

I'm on plus since mid June. The circles seem like an easy way to more granularly define who gets to see various posts. I've tried the 'hangout' feature once, but not really sure where to go with that one.

Andrew (or anyone else) PM me for an invite.

Hey Folks,

Just set up an account .. it seems the functionality is a little more practical for larger groups/circles than other sites, which might turn out well. Feel free to add my account to your page.

Cheers

Carl

So far, I like it, especially compared to Twitter which limited the number of characters and didn't thread discussions. If anyone needs an invite let me know. If interested, I'm here: https://plus.google.com/107013418740229269209/posts

I've gotten set up on G+ since it was opened up for Google Apps accounts. Slowly building out my circles, now.

I have trouble enough dealing with one social network. I have no idea how people juggle Twitter, FB and G+ simultaneously and then some of them are on LinkedIn too!!!

I use a social media aggregator called hootsuite which allows you to post something once and it will post it to all your social media outlets. It also lets you browse posts by others. It doesn't work with Google + yet though.

I wanted to give you a hug after reading this comment. I feel the same way. I joined, and I'm like, "well now what?"

I'm doing OK with Facebook and Twitter, G+ not so much. For one, when I signed up it automatically used an old default gmail account, which I guess I'll just stick with now, because I can't figure out how to change it. I get how G+ is different from Facebook, but not how its different enough to really need both (other than that some people prefer one over the other). I think we're making social networking a bit too complicated, and I waste far too much time fussing over Facebook to have another similar site sucking away from my real life.
