Ice is Nice by Nikhil Bahl The glacial lagoon at Jökulsárlón is probably my favorite photographic location in Iceland. When Illuminated by good light, the floating icebergs of different sizes are a visual treat! It is really hard to capture the essence of the place in one photo and since the lagoon is so large, the ice spreads out and the glacier seems distant. Also, the ice constantly moves based on the tides and wind. I found the best way to deal with this challenge was to focus on a section of the lagoon. Using a wide angle lens, I looked for a foreground that conveyed a sense of place and a complimentary background. The sunset light provided the finishing touch. Equipment Used: Nikon D810, 17mm, f/16, 1/4th second, ISO 64. To see more of Nikhil’s work visit his website at www.NikhilBahl.com.
