Wildlife Gallery - Image of the Year

I met this female fox near one of the many alpine lakes inside the Gran Paradiso National Park. She was very confident, so I was able to use a wide angle lens to take her portrait. On the last morning in April, I put my Sigma 24mm on my Nikon D300 and chose the suitable aperture to obtain the right depth of field. The amount of snow around us worked as a huge reflecting panel.
