As icebergs calve off Vatnajökull and flow out to sea, many are washed back onto the beach in Jokulsarlon, Iceland. This stormy morning provided a nice brooding backdrop to display the glow of this ancient ice. This was a difficult shoot, with 2 cameras being lost by other parties to the waves. I was fortunate, but had a tough time because with every inrush of water, the composition could be dramatically changed. After this shot was taken, this 6 foot iceberg cracked in half and floated out to sea.
