"Lost in the Crowd"

Sometimes one gets lucky and this is one of those images. This image was captured while I was home sick last summer. Bluets are a very common wildflower and extremely so in our back and side yards. While sitting in the backyard I was looking at the many groupings and noticed this one with a fairly flat arrangement. I shot this with a 5D and 180 macro on a Gitzo 1325 tripod fully flat out so I could look down on the flowers. I used f/22 to try and get as much depth of field as possible.

About the Photographer

I have been practicing photography for about thirty years, although it was interrupted for almost ten while I maintained an antique restoration business in my home and worked full time. I reacquainted myself with photography just as digital was catching on and have been honing my skills with the help of the members of Naturescapes for the last several years. Although I do try to photograph pretty much everything related to nature, the small details of the world attract me the most.
