I set up to photograph this lone tree as a 2-image panorama, as I was intrigued by the rolling landscape to the right. A flock of birds appeared and landed in the tree. As they began to leave, I took two frames panning to the right quickly as they flew away with their flight path mimicking the rolling hills. I was fortunate to be here at this particular time. The image was stitched by hand in CS3 and color was enhanced. Canon 1Ds MKII, Canon 300mm f/2.8, 1/1000 s @ f/2.8, ISO 50, Gitzo tripod, RRS ball head, Wimberley sidekick.
