HONORABLE MENTION

I took this picture in the Netherlands, near Amsterdam in early spring, 2007. It was an early, foggy morning; we had discovered this tulip field the day before but the light was not good, so we decided to come back at the sunrise. The ocean of white tulips, line of trees, mist and the red one, that was something we searched for.

About the Photographer
I was born in Katowice, south of Poland in 1975. During my studies in Technical University in Gliwice I discovered my first passion - traveling. After a few years came the second passion – photography. Up until now I have spent most of my free time traveling around
Europe. I specialize in landscape photography and prefer the cold beauty and wilderness of northern lands such as Scandinavia. At the beginning I was inspired by Scottish landscapes of the Polish photographer Zbigniew Biejat. I started with analog cameras; now I continue with digital cameras using new techniques giving more possibilities in landscape photography (HDR, panorama stitching, etc.). I exhibit my photographs in Poland and write articles about landscape photography and post-processing of digital images for various European photo magazines. I've learned photography myself, never attended any school or courses. This year I began to participate in photo contest with some successes -- 33 awards in 14 countries. Most of my works are available on my website www.lonelywolf.pl.
