The Common Kingfisher is a territorial species. Whenever another kingfisher treads his/her territory, usually a big display is set. After spending a month with this beautiful species, I was lucky to capture its spectacular display. Canon EOS 20D, 500 f/4, 1/200s @ f/7.1, ISO 200, tripod, Wimberley II.

About the Photographer

Ever since I can remember, I have had a passion for Nature. As a youngster, I walked though the fields around my father's farm with binoculars and a bird field guide where I spent hours and hours fascinated by nature. I encountered the world of photography four years ago by chance, when I purchased a simple P&S digital camera. Ever since I've been "addicted" to birds and nature photography, and I spend most of my spare time in the fields watching and photographing birds.
