2005 FLORA AND MACRO GALLERY
IMAGE OF THE YEAR
Daylily
Image copyright Steve Sage

Steve Sage
is a veterinarian by profession in Michigan and a serious amateur photographer
in his spare time. His interests are birds, wildlife, landscapes and macro
photography in his travels and backyard. He is a fairly regular contributor
here at Naturescapes.Net.
This
flower was one of the many daylilies that are perennials in his yard.
The colors and forms of these subjects inspire Steve to try new things.
This was taken with a Canon 10D and 180mm macro lens on a Gitzo tripod.
The exposure was 1/250 sec at f6.3, ISO 400 in RAW format with natural
light. Very little has been done post-processing this image. In this image,
Steve was trying to do something with the sweeping lines and deeper parts
of the flower.
