Gary Best is an avid nature and wildlife photographer whose interests lead him to photograph landscapes and natural history at every opportunity. Gary works as a studio photographer for Images Unique Photography and serves as workshop assistant for Jividen's Naturally Wild Photo Adventures. His love for the craft even extends to teaching. Evidence is found in the fact his 11-year old daughter has already earned several first-place and Best of Show photography awards. Gary's own accomplishments include more than a dozen first-place awards and two consecutive Best of Show awards on regional and local levels. Gary resides in South Central Ohio and uses Canon equipment. He's been photographing for 15 years.

This image is of the Glade Creek grist mill located in Babcock State Park. Babcock State Park is located between Beckley and Summersville West Virginia. The mill is located just down from the park office. Gary and his daughter took the four hour drive to shoot in mid-October 2004. This photo and roughly three hundred others were shot in between downpours. The remaining time was spent sheltered under a cliff face nearby.
