Hi all,
starting planning for a trip to the Galapagos & Ecuador, probably be Dec 2014 to Feb 2015 timeframe. Was hoping people could share experiences with tours they have taken there. Probably looking at a 7-10 night mid range trip, there is quite a confusing range of options out there. Thanks in advance for any tips or recommendations.

Looks interesting but timing won't work, I plan to take my daughter along and need to travel during university breaks.

I used Audley Travel
http://www.audleytravel.com/ out of the UK for my trip. You can read my entire review of the trip here:

Scroll down to the end to see my ratings of accommodations and services provided.
Of course, you can do this yourself, but it will take a great deal of effort. Everything in a Galapagos tour is organized, it is difficult to break out of the pattern of providers, and travel agencies.

We went with Peregrine Adventures (Aussie Company) in 2006. The Galapagos was in two parts and we did the second part (about 8 days from memory). Fantastic trip with a great group. Not really photographic oriented although sufficient for our needs. Our guide was a bit average however this did not detract from a fantastic experience.
If the schedule fits it is certainly worth a look as virtually all Peregrine trips have been worthwhile.
