20 days ago I found many of these guys (some adults too) in a nice sunny vineyards of the Langhe. It's not very common in this region.

An excellent and interesting species and a fine image. So many mantis species love to hang upside down!

Hi

Now this guy is very HR Gigger – what a great little fellow to find 8)

And an excellent shot

I don’t really have any great suggestions because I think this is excellent as seen, but I would have been tempted to try for a more stopped down look for DOF. But you probably did this anyway

All the best
Matthew

thank you all.
i agree with matthew. increasing iso I could have more dof and 'relatively' fast shutter-speed. otherwise I'd have to use a tripod hoping in the total lack of breeze.

I was just wondering what it reminded me of! - I can certainly see 'Alien' in this amazing creature! 8) Great image Nicola! :D
