Taken over a month ago. This was just emerging from its' leafy covering. The evening light was giving a hint of backlighting.

Lovely soft details. My only critique here is the angle of view - at present I'm wondering whether the oof flower back right is a little distracting; perhaps it could have been hidden behind the subject with a slight adjustment of the shot position?

The angle of the flower in the frame, DOF choice, and the lighting are super. I like the background as is - though David's suggestion is a good one.

Hi

I can relate to Dave’s remark only because I feel the background flower perhaps dilutes the impact of this beauty a little. But the soft backlighting is indeed a real delight, the lighting and compositional angles of flower and leaf are working extremely well. So ideally for me yes, I could do without the backdrop flower, but no I think the angle of flower and leaf are spot on. I like it, and it works

All the best
Matthew

Such a pretty flower with lovely delicate detail and beautiful soft light. I like this as presented with the oof bg flower giving depth and perspective to the image overall.
