Terrific image WK -- beautifully framed, love the symmetry and the sunrise reflected in the paving. The larger version looks even better. Could you share the technical details on this one please?

Sure thing.

Pentax K5 with Tamron 10-24mm: ISO80, F/9.5, 91 second exposure with aid of ND110 filter (to smoothen out the clouds somewhat).

I used two JPG outputs from a single RAW (mainly for the details on the left) and layered them in Photoshop..

Looks like a replica of this composition:

Yes, there are similarities, but I'm not sure why you would call it a replica. There are sufficient and significant differences to not term it as such:

- One is centered, one is not.
- One includes space at the bottom, while one doesn't.

As a matter of fact, Trocadero is a much photographed spot and this is not a very rare composition as you'd see from the links below that I've posted (by a quick search on Flickr). The differences lie mainly in the lighting, and the attention to certain detail. It is the Eiffel! Should we not expect a multitude of photos for this, just like certain scenic spots?

I would also like to state my view that your post seems to insinuate that I went to Paris, planted myself in the spot with Kit Yoong's picture in hand and just emulated it blindly and unthinkingly. This seems mildly offensive to me. Perhaps I may be a little sensitive here, but I would like to hear from you. Thank you in advance.

Oops! I didn't mean to be offensive, WK.
What I meant was that this photo reminded me of Kah's image. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

No offense taken.. :) Just wanted to clarify. Guess it's a miscommunication then. Cheers and have a great weekend.
