Great Falls on Fire

I shot this one early last week at Great Falls National Park, VA. With clear skies overhead, I was lucky to have some fog and mist rising from the relatively warm waters of the river. Just before the sun crested over a distant ridge, the fog lit up with a beautiful backlight.

50D, 70-200, ND Filter. ~1.5 second exposure.

Lot's of great elements spread thoughout this image combine to make a really dynamic scene. The back light really brings this alive, great timing on your part!
