That shows you don't go where you should not go. You get a pass go and collect a bunch of megapixels.

Same here, although I had a virus on windows 7 running under parallels on my Mac, not sure if that counts!
That'll teach me for not having virus protection on it.

The survey estimated 1 in 6 computers was infected. Kind of like Russian roulette.

Kaspersky tool has now been removed. Make sure you do an Apple update which installs a new version of Java which removes both the virus and innoculates the computer from future infection due to this virus.

All of the reports I've seen suggested that the percentage of Macs infected was between .5% and 1%.

"Apple has released a tool to wipe the Flashback Trojan horse program
from infected computers. The tool was first released last week and was
bundled with a Java update; that update scrubs the malware from
machines, and disables Java applets by default on OS X Lion on all
browsers. Last week, Apple has now released a standalone version of the
Flashback removal tool."

"A new piece of malware that infects Mac OS X computers through a Java
vulnerability has been detected. Last week, Apple released an update to
the Java implementation for OS X that was being actively exploited by
the Flashback Trojan horse program. The new malware is called SabPub and
exploits a different Java vulnerability, justifying Apple's decision to
have the update disable Java on computers that had not accessed the
plug-in within the last 35 days. SabPub receives instructions from a
remote website and is capable of taking screen shots of infected
computers."

As a CISO, I would definitely recommend utlizing the Flashback removal tool and not relying on percentages!

It was a matter of time. Will get worse I'm sure. However, Glad they are on top of it!
