So today I downloaded this program for the first time, I have always been a adobe user but since I doubt they will support the 7Dmkii when it comes out I thought I would try it especially since Arthur Morris has been going on like a broken record about how amazing it is but after comparing the results to Photoshop I am just not seeing any benefit to using it, If anything the noise actually looks a lot worse to me.

Am I missing something?

I've tried DPP a few times over the years and personal just hate the way it renders images. Although the amount noise visible will depend on the settings you use. I have followed a long with Arthur Morris guidelines for using DPP and really find the images lack any detail when compared with Lightroom.
All comments & suggestions welcomed and appreciated.

What makes you think that Adobe rental-ware won't support the 7DII?

DPP is like Marmite, some love it, the rest hate it. I do like the colours it renders but the lack of overall control for noise and the terrible shadow/highlight controls always put me off using it now.

It always takes them time to update camera RAW to support new cameras, 8.7 is in beta now so we will probably see it in 8.8.

Adobe still provides Camera Raw updates for Photoshop CS6 because CS6 is still shipping from Adobe. I have CS6 and CS5 but currently using CS5. Just have to install it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they slid the 7D2 into the final 8.7 release ;)

May I ask why you're using CS5 over CS6?

Personally I can think of many better alternatives than Canon software, for me, I see zero advantage and many negatives to it.

Just haven't gotten around to installing it.  :-)  I will very soon.
