There is enough info and leaked "images" of the new GoPro Hero 4+ that I think it's going to happen.

A sure thing like the new Canon 7D MK2.  The GoPro needed a touchscreen bad.  The GoPro app was good but this is better.  Manual control for taking photos. A new longer life battery. This Fall I'm on new electronics overload.  It's all good, I'm not complaining :-)

Web site says it will be available 10/5 but it looks like only from GoPro.

Also, doesn't look like a touch screen on the black edition which has the 4k 30fps capability. The silver does have one, but lower quality specs.

If you follow the GoPro forums there is talk that the existing bacpac may fit the new Hero4 Black as well.  I am glad that existing GoPro casing and accessories seem to work with the new Hero4.  If I had to pick between the Black and Silver, I like the Silver with the included LCD.  I am waiting for battery runtime specs.  Maybe not as important if using one of the Wasabi Extended batteries (made for the Hero3 and 3+) and I'm sure there will be ones for the Hero4 soon enough.

Walked into Costco Canada and see they have the HERO3 + Black selling for $379 Cdn. Also included is an extra GoPro battery and a GoPro dual charger. Looks to be the Motor Sport Edition. That's a great deal. The return policy is 3 months. I'm keeping mine.
