What Nikon TC 1.4 would I buy for my Nikon current model 300mm AF-S F4 lens. I think the latest iteration does not work on my lens so what will. I have the Kenko 1.4 and want to upgrade as it looses contact a bit, usually at a critical moment.

I don't want to go above 1.4 as the image quality declines too much for me.

I own and use the Kenko 1.4 and it works like a champ.

You need the TC-14E II which is still available, the newer TC-14E III does not have the tab that engages the manual aperture diaphragm of the older style D lenses.

Thanks EJ, I will get that one.

Steve I dropped my Kenko which could be why it is a tad un-reliable.
