I haven't spent that much time with macro photography, so my bar might be a bit low, but - this is just about the strangest bug I've ever seen. I photographed it in a forest clearing at about 4000 feet in the Arfak Mountains of West Papua (West New Guinea), Indonesia.
A friend of a friend who has some expertise in insects has identified it as a "hopper nymph, maybe something from Issidae or Flatidae". |
