Nice orchid portrait. More diffuse light would help, perhaps a second diffused flash source, if you used flash.

Hi

A lovely orchid and one well worth taking an image of - like tom mentions the lighting could be more subtle, if using flash I would suggest trying differing ratios and positions and judging their effects for your own tatses. Composition I would advise not using the corner as an entry/exit point - this just seems to bring the frame more to the viewer attention that is wanted imo - again try scrolling this image up so that the stem is not in the corner and see the different effect crafted

But still a nice enough little image of a lovely bloom
