ISO 800

1./ 1250s to stabilize insect while allowing blur of the fast moving mostly transparent wings.

60 mm macro... yes in time it let me get close. You can see it is small from the swamp milkweed flower.  Taken in my garden.

f./9

If you want to see it larger:

Another fine one - nice active behavioral image.

Hi

I like the comp and the shutter was fast enough to freeze the main body areas while leaving a pleasing sense of motion blur upon the wings - I like it

All the best
Matthew

I like the comp with this one. Good timing, too...moth is nice and sharp.

Very nice detail on the moth, also excellent color and comp.

Thanks Tom. I was pleased that it let me get close enough with the 60 mm lens to get this shot with the moving wings this time.

Thanks Matthew. The semi transparent wing motion made for an interesting shot for me.

Thanks Leighayres. I had a few seconds to set things to what I thought could work for the effect I wanted and the rest is history....
