It is that time of year at Kenilworth Gardens, Washington DC.
Lotus and Water Lilies are in bloom. This fertilized Lotus flower is dying off leaving the seed pod.
D810, 70-200mm, f8, 1/10, ISO 200, tripod.
(Best seen with dark screen.)

Nice photo of the Lotus in its final stages of life cycle. Love those tiny rain drops in the hollows in the center pod !

Thanks for the comments.
It is hard year after year to photograph these flowers and try to come up with something different. So I play with different lens combinations and try compositions that aren't so standard. Some work, some don't!
