The Red Helleborine is one of the more rare orchid species where I live. A few days ago I had my first encounter with this very graceful flower.

Boy did you ever dress it up and make it interesting with the spots of light. Very nice.

Excellent image and a beautiful flower - love the background speculars.

Hi

A very nice shot of one special little plant - personally with images of this sort I often feel the surrounds out perform the subject especially in lighting - I'd wonder about adding a flash light to the subject to try and give it more pop

All the best
Matthew

Lovely orchid and interesting BG. I tend to agree with Matthew about perhaps using a flash (or some other fill light) to add some light to the subject. I think I may also take a bit off the top. But nice image overall.

A very beautiful orchid! The specular highlights I feel takes a ways from this rare orchid. But still a nice find and image!

Quite like this one. Find photographing Helleborines difficult since they're quite big plants so isolating them or framing them can be tricky. I like the background but find the balance just a little bit off.
