I don't like the buzy BG but i find first time this guy and i love the color he has on his body .

Allow me to share with you a flash  method i test the last months i use in cloudy days , and is special for high iso shooters . I set the camera in AV mode (aperture priority), i set a high iso 3200-6400 , and i set the flash on AV mode auto speed , so with this way the camera choose auto the best speed it needs . The flash i set it in 1/64 of the power , and high speed synchronisation so it follows the camera when needs higher speed when it needs . This image i post here today is taken with this way .

Creation date: 26/6/2015 09:32
Camera: Canon EOS-1D X
Focal length: 100 mm
Aperture: F16
Exposure time: 1/100"
ISO speed rating: 6400/39°
Program: AV
White Balance: Manual
Flash: Flash fired, compulsory flash mode, canon twin maro lite diffused
Handheld

Thanks for watching .

Works for me Kostas, real nice color, and I do find it appealing.

Hi

That is a cool looking fellow - very peppermint like and I can understand your delight in finding this chap. Although ideally a cleaner surround might have been better, you have composed this image well to craft a fine shot from the available material

All the best
Matthew

Your new technique looks like it worked well Kostas! Nice detail and good colour on this busy scene.

Neat insect and lighting technique. I don't think it's too busy.

Great species here and I like the multi-colored aspect of this image.
