[Bugguide to the rescue - it's a buck moth caterpillar, probably New England Buck Moth, Hemileuca lucina. Yarrow isn't the foodplant, it probably just wandered to it, maybe to pupate.]
I don't have an ID for it yet - but it seemed like an interesting find. I thought the hostplant would help with the identification, but no... Canon 7DMII, 180, F11, tripod, diffuser Tom
