Buck moth caterpillar on yarrow

[Bugguide to the rescue - it's a buck moth caterpillar, probably New England Buck Moth, Hemileuca lucina. Yarrow isn't the foodplant, it probably just wandered to it, maybe to pupate.]

I don't have an ID for it yet - but it seemed like an interesting find. I thought the hostplant would help with the identification, but no...

Canon 7DMII, 180, F11, tripod, diffuser

Really nice detail on the caterpillar and your comp works beautifully, I believe I have seen them before, but have no idea what they are called.

It is really cool and working hard to convince someone that it is not worth eating! Nice image that features and accentuates those barbs
