i found this guy to rest on leafs when but when i tried to go closer to put aperture in f16 where i think would be better to have  more the wings  in focus he gone .

That's the way it is with butterflies! Fine image, beautiful swallowtail, love the flash/ambient light balance.

A great Swallowtail image, flying away has happen to all of us, that is the way it is with butterfly/insect photography!

Although total wing sharpness would be ideal this is still a great looking image - very nice
