Amazing as this is, what I really am impressed and puzzled by is this : How do you get so close to a subject like this without it flying away?

Thanks for the comments Robert.  This was taken last June - just emerged from nymph and wings still wet.

Ah yes, the old immobile wet wings assistance to photography of insects. Even with a 300 f4, damselflys and dragonflies take off on me if I so much as blink or lean in slightly!
