Beautiful OOF patterns, love the composition. Was it really f/16? Looks wider open than that.

Thanks for the comments, Tom
After switching to Canon, the first thing I noticed was how differently the camera performed when compared to my Nikon.
For some reason, the amount of available light seemed to be more abundant on the Nikon...I was shooting anywhere between f/16 to f/32 for my macro's (this was before I knew anything about diffraction, etc) and easily having more than enough light to accommodate the shutter speeds I was after.  When I switched to Canon, when shooting macro at the same/similar shutter speeds, I never seemed to have as much light - I seemed to be limited to shooting at f/7.1 to f/11 to get similar shots.  I have no idea why.
Maybe the values were out of whack with my Nikon and didn't represent true aperture - not sure.
Saying that, I did love my Nikon and enjoyed shooting with it probably more than my Canon.  But I switched because of the lenses.
Cheers

Hi

A nice shot with a good clean coloured surround which really helps up the appeal - regarding the settings what you say does indeed sound strange - I would not have thought there would be much different between exposures

All the best
Matthew

Gorgeous! Love the way you composed this with the empty blue along the bottom to anchor the image. Just gorgeous.
