Breaking the Skin

This is another type of stonefly.   I was lucky to stumble upon this one just breaking the skin of its nymph phase to become an adult.   Initially the adult is cream colored but turns brown quickly as the skin dries.   It was an amazing and quick process to watch this one hatch.     This insect is small (in the fishing world we would say a size 14), approximately a half inch in length.
