Love the pose and the vivid colors - fine image. Cool insect - maybe an assassin bug (Reduviidae).

Thanks Tom for the reference, I was not sure on the true identification as I cannot find this exact species in the African field guides and Ispot.org sites. It seems to have a longer rostrum than most assassin bugs but as Carol says is certainly a funky looking bug
