I like this one Mike, a better composition than your previous shot and I like the pristine petals. As for these beauties surviving the cold, I think I read somewhere they can survive temperatures down to 5 degrees F.

Thanks Carol, we were -25F this winter a couple of times but otherwise global warming has hit hard (70f now).

Please keep on playing - I like this one. The main bloom looks lovely and so are the out of focus areas below.

There are similar magnolias on my street (Magnolia x soulangiana, star magnolia), and here the temps get to -10 F, for the coldest nights.

Another nice looking image of this subject - I always find these blooms hard to isolate, or hard to combine together and I think you are getting a good balanced look here. I like it
