This is an early black stone that I had the privilege of seeing emerge.    These hatch as local rivers rise into the mid 30's for water temperature.    The many birds along the shore as well as the fish prey heavily on them.   They are very fast and seldom stop moving, even when emerging, hence the shutter speed.

Thanks for looking!

Hi

A cool find and a nice looking shot - if your camera is capable of high speed flash you could have exposed correctly for the subject while toning down the surroundings a little

All the best

I love seeing what is happening along your river Kevin, you show us all sorts of life stories of the different wildlife species and their daily activities. This is another little story telling view, and a very nice one too!
