Just recently emerged dragonfly.
Normally I see lots of new dragonflies in June.  I came across a wave that actually emerged late September - not sure the species, or if this is specific to this species.

I kept DOF low intentionally in order  to blow out the background and  keep focus limited to eyes and edge of wing (for effect)

Hi

I guess this would not be my ideal look for an image of a newly emerge dragonfly - but it does work. And the composition with that long perch is different and refreshing. Nicely different and good to see

All the best
Matthew

You did isolate the head well and I like the perch going in and out of focus.
I think a pano crop without the wings would work too.

I like the wide aperture and the OOF stem very much - lovely selective focus. The dragon is Green Darner (Anax junius), I think.
