mayfly on fungi

I was going through files from this fall and found this one that I liked.   I am pretty sure that this mayfly species is called a Stenacrom.    This one is a female due to the small eyes.   It is resting on a piece of fungus attached to a tree. 

1/6 second @f8 @ iso 200 @ 60mm, tripod

Hi

The overhead view / composition combination works really well with this little fellow. The head and body detail is just sublime, and although perhaps the lower darker area is not ideal it does add a nice bit of contrast and perhaps a little intrigue in that it makes the viewer work a little harder in thinking what the image portrays
