Basalt Patterns

A crack pattern in a Basalt boulder near the Rio Grande River this morning.
Nikon D700, Nikon micro 200f4@f9 and 1/200 sec. All C&C welcome.

Hi

A nice subject for an abstracted image and imo you have captured an appealing shot - good edge to edge sharpness and nice patterns are present. It might have been worth trying some additional directional flash lighting to see if this added some strong shadow effects - but overall a good shot of the subject

Fine abstract, neat patterns, nice detail across the frame. Increasing the mid tone contrast could give this more impact.
