Sharing a young katydid with backlighting taken today.  I welcome your C & C for improvements.

If only that large bud wasn't there under the abdomen, it spoils the composition for me - but I'm being really picky! Lovely detail on the katydid and I like the dark bg.

Hi

I like the composition and image and although my personal tastes for a back lit subject would be to allow the natural lighting to come through a little more, (I feel the fill is a tad too much), I think everything is really coming together well in this shot - nice work

Dear all - thanks for your comments and feedback.

I agree with Carol that the OOF bug under the abdomen spoils the composition and point noted regarding the fill being too strong here.

The balance of light and subject detail are excellent. The bud in the lower part of the frame doesn't help, but it has impact and appeal anyway.
