Half-lit

This leaf was back-lit buy the sun. Spot-Metered for the half-lit part of the leaf and framed it so that the profile of the leaf is positioned diagonally.

Fine exposure and nice composition. A bit more depth of field would be nice - but perhaps a longer shutter speed wasn't possible.

Thanks for the comment Tom. You are right about the DOF. A bit more DOF would have kept the lower left portion of the leaf in sharp focus as well. But I did not have my tripod with me that day and stopping down caused slower shutter speeds. Also, I get banding noise particularly in dark/shadow areas for high ISO settings and I am forced to keep ISO as low as possible in some situations.

Hi

Like Tom I like the composition and the fun playfulness of the lighting but would ideally prefer more of a sharp look edge to edge upon the subject. But then again I'd settle for this handholding anyday

Good shot, you could just do a square crop on the left part of the frame to avoid or minimize the OOF area.
