89 Butterfly

Found this butterfly on the road not far from the glasswing posted previously.  About 50% of frame.

Canon 1DMkIV + 300mm f4L IS + 1.4x + 580EXII (@-1 2/3).  1/100 @ f13 ISO800

Hi

A cool find and an excellent shot - no idea how they got their name then?

Just kidding - thanks for a smashing view

All the best

chris,
if you like butterflies, the neotropics is for you  :-)
equador, peru, colombia and brazil have na endless number of species, many still to be identified....

seems like a d. neglecta or Euclides but not shure ........ still  "88" pattern to me ;-)

the diaethrias are very nice indeed....
image is fine. i might consider fill in flash also ....
