Back from Niagara Falls and the wife and I had a great time. I saw six Monarchs that they had tagged for the Monarch Watch program and released in their new outdoor native plant garden, but didn't get any decent shots. I was able to see some in the butterfly house as well:

D7000, Sigma 150, f8 @ 1/250 ISO 400, SB-600 with diffuser, Monopod, crop.

Very colorful perch for this monarch which is in good condition for end of the season. Nice management of plane of focus to get the entire wing sharp.

Very nice job, good work getting parallel like the setting on the flower. For me a slightly paler BG would assist in separating the dark legs etc from the BG, difficult to achieve I know.
