I spent the afternoon snorkeling today in a river.    This rock bass is a common panfish that is not renowned as a sport fish.   It has cool looking eyes, however.     

These fish live along structure and feed primarily on crayfish and minnows. 

1/160 f7.1 Iso 640 @ 60mm

I cannot imagine how you pull this off with short focal lengths !!. Excellent clarity for a water blocked photo and love those metallic golden spots on the upper neck of the fish !
