Grass Whirl - B&W

One from Bernwood Forest this morning: the tip of a grass stem curled into a circle by a spider's web.
Processing this one was a bit of an experiment; the colour version didn't end up doing a lot for me, so I converted to B&W and cropped to roughly square.

Nikon D800E/200f4micro/cpl
ISO 250 1/250 f/6.3
Nik Silver Efex Pro 2

That is something I don't remember seeing before. Good composition and dramatic light, great shot.

Looks pretty nice in B&W. Even I have not seen anything like this before. I have seen some Ants doing this.

Thanks guys; didn't investigate, but I wonder whether it was a Nursery Web Spider (Pisaura mirabilis)?

Fine simple composition and a neat pattern created by the web - the high contrast almost makes it look like it's lit by flash light.
