I like the idea here and the wide crop works well with the subject. Also an excellent background, it just needs a little fill flash IMO as the light is very directional.

Interesting comment...wouldn't fill flash flatten the picture? I do have a macro flash that I can do modeling with but obviously can't be mounted on a 300 2.8.

I'm a big fan of fill flash, you wouldn't need much here-just a little on the left hand side mostly for the bee. It does flatten the light but that is the idea-to lower the contrast slightly. A 300 2.8 would be harder to work with for sure in this case. I always the smallest flash I can get away with but I use Nikon so I can't recommend Sony equipment. Disclaimer: this is all just my opinion

and some folks prefer natural light so I may be all wet.

Thanks for the reply...I mostly shoot wildlife and planned shots are not in my repertoire, so any C&C is appreciated.
