Out dragon hunting this morning and came home with this guy among a couple others. Again, I sacrificed DOF for a cleaner bg.
5DMkII, 300/4L, 1.4X TC, 25mm ext tube.
1/200, f13, ISO 400

I do not believe higher DOF would have helped here. Front wings, head to tail is all crunched in nicely within the available DOF. A neat shot in my opinion.

Hi

I'd agree that DOF looks fine - you could probably have opened up more and still retained good sharpness along all body areas, not including wings

Very nice--I like that the front wing is in focus. Often this is hard to do with dragons.
