Flower structures provide wonderful opportunities for abstractions of colour & shapes. I like how you've approached this one, with the white "star burst" at the end of a coloured, arcing line, and rendered crisp against a field of blurry red. Very eye-catching in the main elements.

One thing that I think would help the impact of this is for the lower right corner to be handled differently. I personally find the size, shape & colour of the corner interrupts the flow of the orangey main arcing line, and the more in-focus aspect of the corner also competes with where I think the concentration is more productive -- along that arcing line, up towards the little star burst shape. If the LR corner was left in place but a bit smaller and blurred out, then it might contribute to the abstracted feel of the piece. But I feel with the combination of size, shape, tone and sharper focus there now, it pulls away from the abstract appeal of the rest of the composition.

Just my $0.02. Thanks for posting!

Along with Royce's comment, cropping off the bottom 10% or so has a good effect. I like the overall concept very much.

Excellent selective focus for the tip of the stigma. Just that small area being in focus without the petal bit in the lower right would also make for an interesting abstract.

The bright end of the pistil looks super, splashy colors - the image overall looks fine as presented.

I like the petal edge in the lower corner - you could create a different balance by coming in slightly closer, and putting the bright pistil end in the opposite corner from the petal edge.

Beautiful abstract Vasanthi! It works perfectly for me just as it is.

Thanks a lot.
Your comments helped me a lot. Will definitely try another one next year.
